So, without having any further delay let's get started.

Causes Of Hair Loss in Teens

1. Medication

This is the most common cause of hair loss for teenagers. Adolescence is considered as the most difficult phase of life due to various changes in the body.

Most of the teens suffers from Acne and depression during this period so, the prescribed medications like antibiotics can cause negative effects on hairs and makes them fall.

Almost 80% of young adults suffer from Acne and 20% from depression.

2. Trichotillomania

Trichotillomania is a psychological disorder in which the person suffering from it compulsively pull out their own hair

This condition is most common for age 9 and 13. This disorder can affect the eyebrows, scalp and eyelashes. People who are suffering from it should follow the instructions of a doctor

This will help them to grow their hair back.

3. Alopecia areata

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder. This makes the condition worse in which the body attacks its own hair follicles

You can see round blade patches on the scalp and on other parts of the body where hair growth occures.

This is quite common. In many cases hair loss is not permanent and can grow back.

You can find this form of hair loss in both the genders at any age, but it's more likely to suffer from it during hormonal surges

The development of Alopecia areata depends upon many factors such as Genetics, Environmental factors, immunology, hormonal changes and some others.

4. Traction alopecia

Mostly caused due to over-styling the hairs. These days, it is quite trendy for boys to have too-tight hair styles thus making it common. This trend can damage the hair follicles which can cause hair loss.

Traction alopecia is becoming more common due to more teenage boys wearing their hairs in buns and over styling with the use of harsh chemicals such as dyes.

Making same style for hairs multiple times can also lead to breakage. This will make the problem more complicated.

5. Stress

Teenagers are already in difficult phase of their life which is full of stress. School, exams, work, and some others responsibilities can cause a lot of stress.

This can lead to shedding and balding. On the other hand emotional and physical changes in the body due to adolescence can add in it. Stress contributes more to hair thinning

Lack of oxygen to the dermal papilla (structure present at bottom of hair bulb) can also cause stress-induced hair loss.

6. Hormonal changes

Adolescence is a period in life in which various physical well as mental changes takes place in body. These transformations are due to hormones. These hormones can boost the Process of maturation.

In these phase the hormone related conditions starts to develop. These can cause hair loss.

7. Poor nutrition

Nowadays, teenagers are more attracted towards junk and unhealthy food. These type of meals can affect our body negatively.

Replacing highly nutritious food with fast or processed food can also lead to hair thinning.

We can find some nutritional deficiencies in age group 10 to 20. These include Protein, Vitmin-D, Iron,  Vitamin-B 12 and magnesium. These deficiencies can cause health issues including hair loss
