It's leaves are packed with high fibre content (in greater amount as compared to most green vegetables).

According to a study in by Lund, Sweden had 38 overweight women had a green tea in morning before having breakfast for 90 days. 

50% of the participants had a drink which contained five grams of spinach extract, and the opposite half received a drink with placebo. 

There were some rules for diet. The participants have to eat a diet which included only three meals a day and not to follow any other diet plan. 

The results were as follows:-

When the two groups were compared, the women who had spinach extract lost around five kg weight in three months which was almost 43% more weight and the opposite group lost three and half kg. 

The hedonic hunger (just eating for pleasure even if we are full) was also reduce by 95%. This showed that the thylakoids had a good work in weight loss. 

There was another study which found that a single dose of thylakoids consumed in morning before breakfast had a significant impact on hunger and satiety for whole day. 

The thylakoid consumers reported that they decreased their hunger and increased satiety for the remainder of the test day. They also reported that their desire for unhealthy food was also reduced. 

This also proved that spinach is beneficial for weight loss. 

Thus, Spinach is not only a nutrition powerhouse, but also a greet source of food for weight loss.

Spinach is a rich source of vitamin K. A protein called Osteocalc (promoted by vitamin K) is responsible for stabilizing calcium in the bones. 

In addition to this, spinach is also a great source of calcium and vitamin D, potassium, magnesium and vitamin C. All of these are important for good bone health. 

2. Strengthens your eyesight and immune system

It contains beta carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and chlorophyll which are important for improving your eyesight and boosting your immune system. 

Lutein and zeaxanthin has a role in shielding your eye from damaging light. It acts as a natural sunblock. Thus, it is advised to eat more and more greens.

Our skin and mucous membranes has a major role in repelling various kinds of bacteria and viruses. Spinach is high in vitamin A which helps these to perform their functions.

Vitamin C in spinach is known to protect us from cardiovascular diseases. Lutein prevents thickening of walls of arteries which reduces the risk of heart attacks.

This vitamin also has ability to prevent wrinkles and protect us from eye diseases, prenatal health problems.
